How thick should a concrete driveway be?

Four inches is the usual minimum for cars and light trucks. We go five or six inches with heavier steel where the driveway meets the street, at RV and trailer parking, at turnarounds, and anywhere a delivery truck will cross. How long does a concrete driveway last in Colorado?

A driveway poured on firm ground over a solid compacted gravel base, with the right concrete, steel held up off the dirt, and joints cut where they belong, will serve you for decades. What shortens a Colorado driveway is almost never traffic. It is a weak base, water sitting where it should not, and ice melt eating the surface.
